Sunday Morning Worship 10:30am in the Worship Center (the bubble).
A church is more than the building (or bubble!). A Christian church is a group of people devoted to the supremacy of Jesus Christ. When He is our treasure it affects how we view God, ourselves and others. In other words, He teaches us how to love and be loved. How to give and how to receive. How to persevere and how to surrender.
The Scriptures teach that Christians around the world are spiritual brothers and sisters. There are a couple of illustrations that help us understand this imagery:
Marriage
The Scriptures teach that Christians are spiritually united and together they form a person described as the Bride of Christ.
Ephesians 5 teaches husbands and wives how to interact based on the way Jesus interacts with His Bride (the Church).
Human Body
just as the human body is made of unique parts (head, arms, feet, ears, etc.) so the Body of Christ is brought together through the unique gifts of each person. Each of us exercise our unique gifts so that the Body can fully function as God has designed.
It's hard to describe CrossPoint because we're more than an organization. We are real people living in the real world with real challenges!
Here's an attempt to describe the variety of people who are members at CrossPoint:
We are senior adults committed to seeing the younger generations glorify God.
We are young people grateful to have wisdom surrounding us.
We are married with young children, adult children and everything between.
We are single parents.
We have been married for 60 years.
We don't know if we'll ever be married!
We are deep, mature disciples of Jesus.
We are just learning what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.
We grew up in a Christian church.
We never went to church as a child.
We love to cook!
We love to have fun.
We laugh with one another.
We cry with one another.
We have buried our children.
We have celebrated birth.
We are recently divorced.
We have reconciled our marriage.
We struggle with addiction.
We have overcome our addiction.
We are just "average people" wanting to learn how to glorify God.
We are pipe designers.
We are administrators for the state government.
We are research scientists.
We are educators.
We are contractors.
We are stay at home moms.
We are hard-working dads.
The list could go on and on...but above all we are followers of Jesus and we are filled with His joy.
We'd love to share the Gospel with you: the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Why He came, Why He died, How He conquered death and why it matters.
If you attend one Sunday morning and you can get away from all the love that the congregation is showing you, please approach one of our pastors. They'd love to shake your hand and give you a personal greeting.
